After dealing with a bout of the flu that wiped me out for four days and the specter of mass flooding because of rising temperatures and "heavy" rain melting the snow and ice that are around here (didn't really happen...just a little localized flooding), I really needed this day and the upcoming week off.
I'm on vacation until the week of March 9th.

I hope you're feeling better. Great article on the steel mill. My dad worked for Republic (later LTV) Steel for 29 1/2 years, from when we moved to Ohio in 1964 until his congestive hear failure wouldn't let him work anymore in 1993.
I was in the old Republic mill (I think it's the Mittal mill now). My dad too me and my mother and a neighbor for a tour there in 1975, when Republic offered tours for relatives of employees. It was amazing to watch steel being made. We were several hundred feet away from the blast furnaces and we could still feel the intense heat.
How about those Pens? The arena deal looked to be dead but now there's a chance it will be worked out.
